What we collect

If you create an account, we store your email address, your first name, and your quiz progress (which questions you answered and whether you got them right, plus your mock exam results). That is the full list — we don't collect your address, phone number, date of birth or anything else.

If you practise without an account, nothing about you is stored on our servers. Your progress is kept only in your own browser (see Cookies and local storage below).

Where your data is stored

Account data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, on Amazon Web Services servers in London, United Kingdom (AWS region eu-west-2). The United Kingdom holds a European Commission adequacy decision, meaning it is recognised as providing an equivalent level of data protection to the EU.

Cookies and local storage

We use no advertising or analytics cookies. What we do use:

  • Authentication cookies — set by Supabase when you log in, to keep you signed in securely.
  • Browser local storage — if you practise without an account, your quiz progress is saved in your own browser so your results survive a page reload. It never leaves your device.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time from your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your email, name, progress and exam history are removed from our database.

Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to receive a copy of it, and to have it erased. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theorytester.ie. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

No sale of data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone. There are no advertisers, no data brokers, and no third-party marketing of any kind.
